DESCRIPTION:Register for 2025 edition by clicking here.\n\nAbout Dudhsagar:\nDudhsagar is a four-tiered waterfall located in the Western Ghats of India. It is one of the most prominent and beautiful waterfalls in the country. The waterfall is situated on the Mandovi River in the state of Goa\, near the border with Karnataka. The name “Dudhsagar” means ‘sea of milk’. The milky appearance of the water forms when it cascades down the rocky tiers\, resembling a stream of milk.\n\n \nMythical story!\nThis Sea of Milk name for Dudhsagar Waterfall came from the myth associated with it. The story goes like this once there was a princess\, she was the daughter of king of ghats. She used to go to nearby lake to bath and along with her\, the maidens used to drink milk from the jug. One day a prince was crossing the lake and hearing the sound of laughter of princess and the maiden he stopped. Maidens poured the jug of milk in the water around her to save her honor. Hence the name “Dudhsagar”.\n \nWhy to run Dudhsagar Ultra Trail?\nGoa is always known to its visitors for its beaches\, pubs\, and nightlife. But what many do not know is that being occupied by the majestic hills of the Western Ghats\, the part of Goa near its Karnataka border is dotted with many waterfalls and beautiful trails in Mollem National Park & Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary like the Dudhsagar trek trail.
