One Hundred® Ladakh – Trail to Heaven 2026 is a high-altitude mountain trail ultra-running event hosted in Ladakh, India, as part of the prestigious One Hundred® Trail Endurance World Championship series. It’s designed as a transformational ultra experience through rugged Himalayan terrain, remote valleys, high passes and ancient cultural landscapes — far beyond a typical race.

The event offers three challenging trail distances that test endurance, altitude adaptation and technical trail skills:

100 Miles (~160.9 km)

• Distance: ~160.9 km

• Surface: Mountain trail with technical and rugged terrain

42 km Trail Marathon

• Elevation Gain: +1,750 m
• Time Limit: 14 hrs
• Trail Type: Technical mountain paths with hills and passes

Terrain & Experience

The race takes place in the high desert and rugged Himalayas of Ladakh, one of the highest inhabited regions in the world:

• High Altitude: Much of the course sits above 3,500 m — thin air and reduced oxygen make pacing and acclimatisation crucial.
• Scenic Valley Trails: Routes may follow sections of the Markha River Valley and remote ridgelines draped with prayer flags.
• Technical Trail: Expect rocky singletracks, stream crossings and varied mountain surfaces — a true mountain trail experience.

This is not a road event — it’s a mountain trail ultra, demanding strong hill running ability and technical footwork.

Location & Logistics

• Host City: Leh, Ladakh, India — one of the highest-elevation towns globally.
• Elevation: Starter villages and passes can range from ~3,500 m to above 5,200 m in some sections.
• Navigation: GPS navigation and GPX files provided; the course isn’t fully marked in places.
• Mandatory Acclimatisation: Runners must arrive 7–10 days before the race to acclimatise to altitude.
