The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2026 is India’s second largest marathon and one of the most iconic running events on the country’s calendar. Powered by IDFC FIRST Bank and organised by the Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS), the 15th edition takes place across two days — 29–30 August 2026 — drawing over 30,000 runners from across India and the world to the City of Pearls.
From the full marathon to the 5K fun run, this is a celebration of fitness, community, and the city of Hyderabad — where history meets innovation at every stride.

A Tale of Two Cities — The Course
The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon is a point-to-point race that takes runners on a spectacular journey across two faces of the city. It begins at the shimmering Hussain Sagar Lake under the gaze of the iconic monolithic Buddha statue, passes through the corridors of power at the New Secretariat and the prestigious neighbourhoods of Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, crosses the architectural marvel of the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge with panoramic views of the Cyberabad skyline, and finishes inside the electrifying GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli.
Set on the Deccan Plateau, the course features rolling hills, three flyovers, and a challenging terrain that earns every finisher a true badge of honour. This is not a flat city race — it is a course that demands training and rewards grit.

42.195 KM — Full Marathon (Point to Point)

21.098 KM — Half Marathon (Point to Point)

10 KM — Run (Point to Point)
Start Time: 7:00 AM | Cut-off: 1 hour 45 minutes Qualification: No timing certificate required (submitting one helps get a better starting corral) Pacers available ✓ | Elite category available ✓
5 KM — Fun Run (Out & Back)
Date: Saturday, 29 August 2026 | Start Time: 7:00 AM | Cut-off: 1 hour Minimum age: 10 years and above Non-timed event — no timing certificate issued
Qualification Requirements
Full Marathon (42.195 KM) Runners must have completed a marathon or half marathon at a live event on or after 1 January 2025 with the following minimum timings:
- Full Marathon: 6:30 or faster
- Half Marathon: 3:00 or faster A valid certificate URL and government-issued photo ID are required at registration.
Half Marathon & 10 KM No timing certificate is required, but submitting one facilitates placement in a better starting corral.
5 KM Fun Run Open to all participants aged 10 years and above. No qualifying time required.

Important Information
Refund & Transfer Policy Once registration is confirmed, the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
Timing Certificate Soft copy timing certificates are issued for Full Marathon (under 6:30), Half Marathon (under 3:30), and 10K (under 2:00) finishers. The 5K Fun Run is not a timed event and no certificate is issued.
Timing Mats Runners must cross all timing mats on the course for their finish time to be recorded.
Application Processing Registrations are processed within 2 weeks of receipt of the registration fee, subject to qualification criteria being met.
Sustainability The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon is designed as a zero-waste event with comprehensive safety and sustainability measures in place.
About the Organiser
The Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS) is India’s largest running club, founded in 2007 as a non-profit organisation to encourage running across all age groups in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. With over 6,000 members and a thriving social media presence, HRS organises 2–3 runs every week and has grown the Hyderabad Marathon from 1,250 participants in its first year to one of India’s top two marathons by participation. The marathon route is certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
