Every year on International Women’s Day, thousands of women across India do something quietly powerful — they show up before sunrise, lace up their shoes, and run. Not for records, not for rankings, but for the sheer joy of moving together. This March 8, that tradition continues in cities from Bengaluru to Delhi, with a lineup of runs that are as diverse as the women who run them.
Whether you’re a seasoned pacer or someone who’s never run a race in your life, there’s a starting line for you. Here’s what’s happening.
Bengaluru

The SIStra Run Sisters in Sweat brings their SIStra Run to Bengaluru on March 8 at Orion Mall before heading to Gurugram later in March. If you’ve been looking for a reason to run with a community that genuinely cheers each other on, this is it.
Six Yard Run Happening on the terraces of Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru as part of TheSheImpact 3.0, the Six Yard Run challenges participants to run 3K or 5K draped in a saree. It’s part athletic feat, part cultural celebration — and completely unforgettable.

Starting at 6:30 AM from JB Kaval Park, it’s a beginner-friendly, non-technical trail perfect for women stepping into trail running for the first time. Safe, supportive, and set in one of Bengaluru’s most beautiful green pockets. Come run the trails, breathe the forest air, and celebrate Women’s Day the trail way.
Mumbai
Women’s Day Run (6th Edition) Heading into its sixth year, this run sets off from Eastern Express Highway for a 5K on a clear, flat route. Men are welcome too. If you’re chasing a personal best or simply want to mark the day with movement, this is the one.

The Saree Run Pune 2026 The Saree Run, organized by JJ Active and Taneira, has become a beloved annual movement across Indian cities. The Pune edition brings women together for a 3K/5K in six yards of grace. Watch the official pages for final date confirmation.
Delhi
Pinkathon (8th Delhi Edition) India’s biggest women’s run returns to Delhi for the first time in six and a half years. The Zydus Pinkathon lands at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on March 8 with everything from a 3K to ultra-distance categories of 50K, 75K, and 100K. Over 50,000 women have participated across previous Delhi editions. This one is going to be big.
A Day Worth Running For
March 8 falls on a Sunday this year — no alarm-clock guilt, no rushing to work. Just you, the road, and a few hundred (or a few thousand) women doing exactly the same thing at the same time across the country.
The IWD 2026 theme is “Give to Gain“ — and if there’s one thing a Women’s Day run gives back, it’s energy. The kind that stays with you long after the finish line.

Keep the Momentum Going – Hit the Trails
Women’s Day runs are just the beginning. If March 8 lights a spark, BMF Ultra in Bengaluru is where it turns into something bigger. One of India’s most celebrated trail running events, BMF Ultra has been steadily growing its women’s field — and this June, we want to see that number climb even higher. Whether you’re trail-curious or ready to go long, there’s a distance for you.
BMF Ultra 2026
June 21 @ 5:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Course
BMF Ultra runs through the open hill terrain of Avathi Hills – a mix of wide dirt paths, gravel tracks and steady rolling climbs. The trail itself is non-technical and clearly marked, making it runnable for both road and trail athletes.
But don’t mistake runnable for easy.
What makes BMF Ultra challenging is the combination of elevation gain across exposed hillsides, rising June temperatures and the sustained mental focus required over distance. The terrain is open, the climbs are steady, and pacing becomes everything.
This is where road fitness meets its first real hill test – and where disciplined runners separate themselves through smart effort and endurance.
Come prepared. Hydrate well the day before. Respect the distance. Respect the heat.
