Niti MTB Challenge 2026
May 30

High-Altitude Mountain Biking in the Himalayas
The Niti MTB Challenge 2026 is one of India’s most extraordinary mountain biking events — a high-altitude endurance race set deep in the remote Niti Valley, Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, just a few kilometres from the Indo-Tibetan (China) border. Organised by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and powered by Bikes Station Haldwani, this event is a rare invitation to ride through some of the most untouched and dramatic Himalayan terrain in the country.
Whether you are a competitive MTB rider or an adventure cyclist, the Niti MTB Challenge offers a race experience unlike anything you will find on the Indian cycling calendar — raw, scenic, high-altitude, and deeply rooted in the culture of the mountains.

About Niti Valley
Niti Valley is one of the last truly wild Himalayan valleys in India. Nestled in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and sitting close to the Indo-Tibetan border, it is a region of staggering beauty — ancient mountain villages, dramatic gorges, high-altitude meadows, and landscapes that very few cyclists ever get to experience.
The race route connects the villages of Malari (3,100 m) and Gamshali (3,350 m), taking riders through terrain that is as challenging as it is breathtaking. This is border tourism at its finest — adventurous, purposeful, and deeply connected to the communities that call these mountains home.
