Patnitop Ultra Marathon 2026

The Patnitop Ultra Marathon is J&K’s most iconic running event — a high-altitude race set amidst the breathtaking meadows, dense Deodar cedar forests, and panoramic Himalayan vistas of Patnitop, Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir. Organised by IKA Sports & Events Pvt. Ltd. — founded by IRONMAN triathlete Kapil Arora — in collaboration with the Department of Tourism J&K, Patnitop Development Authority (PDA), and Udhampur District Administration, this event brings together runners from across India for a truly unforgettable mountain running experience.

Patnitop sits at an altitude of 2,024 metres in the Shivalik belt of the Himalayas, where the air is crisp, the forests are ancient, and the views of the Chenab basin and Pir Panjal range are nothing short of spectacular. This is not just a race — it is a destination experience in one of India’s most scenic highland plateaus.

About Patnitop

Patnitop is by far the most popular hill resort in Jammu & Kashmir — a plateau destination in the Shivalik belt of the Himalayas at 2,024 metres. The river Chenab flows in close proximity to this stunning location, which comprises several meadows enveloped by thick forests of Deodar (Cedar) and Kail (Blue Pine) trees. It offers breath-taking views of the Chenab basin and the Pir Panjal range, peaceful walks through conifer groves, and the serene Nag Mandir at Karlah village nearby.

Running here is an experience unlike any road race. The terrain is wild, the scenery is extraordinary, and the mountain air makes every kilometre count twice.
